Best jquery password strength plugin Examples to show password strength

Sep 6, 2012
Introduction

Here I will explain different type of JQuery password strength meter or indicator plugins.

Description:

In previous posts I explained Show password strength meter using AJAX in asp.net and Show password strength using JQuery Plugin in asp.net and many articles relating to
JQuery. Now I will explain different type of available JQuery password strength indicator plugins.

This plugin extends the jQuery validation plugin, providing two components:

     1)  A function that rates passwords for factors like mixed upper/lower case, mix of characters (digits, special characters), length and similarity to a username (optional).

     2)    A custom method for the validation plugin that uses the rating function to display a password strength meter, requiring the field to have a “good” rating. The text displayed can be localized.

jQuery Password Strength Meter

JQuery Password strength meter plugin is used to display strength of our password like as shown below based on the text we entered in textbox

Complexify - a jQuery Plugin

Complexify aims to provide a good measure of password complexity for websites to use both for giving hints to users in the form of strength bars, and for casually enforcing a minimum complexity for security reasons

Password field with strength meter

This plugin is very nice and show password indication on fly basis and it’s very easy to integrate and there

Password strength meter

There is no submit button, just fill in a password to check it's strength. I removed the submit button because of the accusation that I harvest passwords and emails.
I wonder why should I do that ? for spam ? I think there are better ways to do that, not by waisting time for writing an entire post on how to do a password strength meter and waiting for some people to hit submit on the example page.

Password Strength Checking with jQuery

Password strength checking is an easy way to show the strength of user password on the registration forms. It helps users to choose more secure password when filling the forms.
In this tutorial we will build a basic form field that provides live feedback to the users about the password strength. The basic idea is to evaluate the password string every time a user enters a character. We will check the password strength using a few regular expressions with jQuery.
