8 jQuery Custom Scrollbar Plugins Example Tutorials

Dec 30, 2012
Introduction

Here I will explain best
jQuery custom scrollbar plugin examples. jQuery Custom Scrollbar plugins will allow you to add fully customizable scrollbars for your application

Description:

In previous article I explained 6+ jQuery Snow fall effect plugins,
11+ Best jQuery Countdown timer plugins, 12+ Best jQuery Drag and Drop Plugins, 11+ best jQuery Scroll to top plugins, 9+ JQuery AutoComplete plugins, 6+ JQuery Password Strength Plugins and many articles relating to JQuery, Ajax, asp.net, SQL Server etc. Now I will explain different type of best jQuery custom scrollbar plugin tutorials with examples.

jQuery Custom Content Scroller

Custom scrollbar plugin utilizing jquery UI that’s fully customizable with CSS. Features vertical/horizontal scrolling, mouse-wheel support (via Brandon Aaron jquery mouse-wheel plugin), scroll inertia & easing, auto-adjustable scrollbar length, scroll-to functionality and scrolling buttons.

jScrollbar : Customize your own scrollbar with jQuery UI

jScrollbar is fully skinnable with CSS (you can use images instead) and can detect mousewheel event.

NanoScroller: JQuery Scrollbar

nanoScroller.js is a jQuery plugin that offers a simplistic way of implementing Mac OS X Lion-styled scrollbars for your website. It uses minimal HTML markup being .nano > .content. The other scrollbar div elements .pane > .slider are added during run time to prevent clutter in templating. The latest version utilizes native scrolling and works with the iPad, iPhone, and some Android Tablets.

Scrollbar Paper does not replace browser's default scrollbar.Instead, it covers it with a custom scrollbar, like paper on a wall: that is why it is called Scrollbar Paper. The benefit of this approach is that the way browser's default scrollbar behaves is not modified: mouse wheel support, text selection and scrolling performance are the same as usual.
Besides, Scrollbar Paper's HTML does not wrap itself around its content, and thus, does not eventually break it: for instance, when jScrollPane might reset/break Flash/SWF movies, Scrollbar Paper will not.

Scrollbars

jQuery plugin. Fully themable and adjustable scrollbars. Automatically adjusts if scrollbars are not required. Fallback to regular scrollbars if JavaScript is disabled.

jScrollPane

jScrollPane is a jQuery plugin which provides you with custom scrollbars which work consistently across all modern browsers. You can style the scrollbars using simple CSS and they degrade gracefully where JavaScript is disabled.

Sly: jQuery plugin for one-direction scrolling

Sly is a jQuery plugin for one-directional scrolling simulation with item based navigation support and lots of other goodies. This plugin is also 9Kb minified and works in IE6.

Hi,

Recently I came across some great articles on your site.
The other day, I was discussing (http://www.aspdotnet-suresh.com/2012/12/8-top-jquery-scrollbar-plugin-tutorials.html)with my colleagues and they suggested I submit an article of my own. Your site is just perfect for what I have written!
Would it be ok to submit the article? It is free of charge, of course!

Let me know what you think
